Our Whipped Tallow & Honey Cream with Calendula, Marshmallow, and Yarrow is a versatile and potent skincare solution. Made from local grass-fed & finished beef fat, this cream features a potent combination of Vitamins A, D, E and K, antioxidants and essential fatty acids to repair and nourish your skin. In order to retain the beneficial properties that tallow has to offer, we use the traditional dry render method (low and slow heat + beef fat) as opposed to the typical wet render method (heat + water + salt). Wet rendering makes tallow less shelf-stable since this process uses water increasing the chance of mold, bacteria, and oxidation. The wet render method also changes the nutrients/fatty acid profile which means you're losing much of those amazing properties animal fat offers, and possibly even more depending on how many times it has been refined a.k.a "purified" (reheated water and salt, normally done 2-3 times or more to achieve a white, odorless product). With our tallow, you do get a hint of the beefy smell that is typical with traditional tallow because we prefer to keep the goodness of tallow with all its glories rather than forsake it for looks and a cheap product.
